These vocabulary activities have students learn vocabulary before, during, and/or after a story. They include acrostic poems, making inferences based on prior background knowledge,and vocabulary games (bingo and matching) .

Graphic Organizers for Vocabulary


This graphic organizer students will write unclear vocabulary words in one row, in row two students will make inferences about the unclear vocabulary word, and then in row 3 write what helped them make that inference. At the end of the story, we will will see if they are correct.



The Games


Students can enjoy playing bingo and memory while learning sentence complexity and types. The bingo game specially created online at http://print-bingo.com to fit the needs of unit "Reconstruction under Construction." The memory game was specially created in Microsoft word to fit the needs of my unit "Reconstruction under Construction."
